We try to really focus on the competitors’ and fans’ experience with the League and each match across each division for every game in Season 3 will feature:
  • Complete web match scheduling
  • All matches played on our ESEA servers across eight locations
  • Protection from our industry leading anti-cheat / config locking Client
  • Helpful team of handpicked paid league Admins who are active in each community
  • Complete box scores and stats for EVERY match (just as we have for pugs and scrims)

1st, Quite a turn of events to see source without all the money
0 4.9.09 at 9:17pm #0 Torbull
We are 100000% committed to both Source and TF2 and as indicated, we'll continue to grow those prize pots in subsequent seasons, just as we've done with CS 1.6. Season 3 is the second season for Source and TF2 while 1.6 has been in all three seasons of our League.

Looks awesome and should be a lot of fun!

and to the source players who see tf2 with a larger pool, you have to understand that tf2 involves 6v6 and not 5v5.

but either way, i cant wait to see the lan playoffs for cs 1.6!

total prize pot for cs open is >then tf2 and cs:s invite...

talk about a slap in the face.
0 4.10.09 at 4:07am #0 lpkane
70% of our premium members (what allows us to run this league) play 1.6

as both the source and tf2 communities continue to grow with premium, so will their respective prize pots
0 4.10.09 at 4:37am #0 riptide
right on 1.6 all tHE WAY
0 4.10.09 at 5:38am #0 jam
wow...
thats retarded source got owned.

give to source a prizepot based on the number of source teams.

right now if I register for season 3, im gona pay for cs1.6 prizepot
(for season2, source players are paying for 1.6 prize pot already i did the maths)

edit: why would teams play in esea-i source if they can win more money in cevo-p and even in cevo-main

Last modified on 4/10/2009 at 5:40 am
0 4.10.09 at 5:43am #0 jam
also with that a terrible prizepot, not many team will register for esea season3, cevo looks way WAY better
what a joke.

edit: when i look at "curently playing" theres like X number of 1.6 players, at least X/2 numbers of source players, and almost 0 tf2 player, why does tf2 get more money

do prizepot based on the % of teams of each game
prizepot for season 3 is 35k

if for example there are 50% of the teams 1.6, give 1.6 50% of the prizepot
30% source teams, give source 30% of the prizepot
20% tf2 teams, give tf2 20% of the prizepot
and also, 1.6 get an AMAZING prizepot + LAN PLAYOFF(esea is gona use money to set-up the lan am i right?)

ur telling source teams : GO PLAY CEVO ITS WAY BETTER, DONT COME PLAY ESEA.

in order to entice a greater audience of css and tf2 players the prize have to be enough to interest them... if not they'll take a pass and go on to another league, thereby costing you their monthly subscription and their league entrance fee. simple economics bro, I understand your audience is predominantly 1.6, but by starting a league you have a huge opportunity to expand that audience. setting up the prize the way you have, only expands your 1.6 audience... which is probably not going to grow much further. where as your source and ESPECIALLY your tf2 audiences have huge potential to grow.

personally I'm not in it for the money as what I would take home from winning esea invite is less then a weeks pay, but it's something to think on.
0 4.10.09 at 6:03am #0 lpkane

lol if over $13,000 combined isn't enough to "entice" players and teams to play then i won't lose much sleep over it

either way, i have zero concern that getting teams signed up this season will be an issue so you're both making pointless arguments, if you don't want to play don't
0 4.10.09 at 6:06am #0 jam
lol

edit: all im asking is: why are source players paying for 1.6 prizepot

Last modified on 4/10/2009 at 6:07 am
0 4.10.09 at 6:11am #0 lpkane
you're pretty bad at math, lets try:

64 source open teams (our target) + 8 source invite teams x avg 6 players per team x $5 entry fee = $2,160

source prize pot = $6,400

yeah?
0 4.10.09 at 6:26am #0 jam
ok lets do this
season 2
cs1.6:150teams*6players*8$=4500$
cs1.6 prizepot =14875$

yeah?

edit: season 2 had 58 players, with a decent prizepot im pretty sure season 3 would had WAY MORE than 64 teams
how many teams had season1? ye ok

Last modified on 4/10/2009 at 6:27 am
0 4.10.09 at 6:29am #0 lpkane
who cares? you said source pays for the 1.6 prize pot and i pointed out that it doesn't even pay for its own

and you're really whining about this? source prize pot for s2 was like 2k, we tripled it to 6k

Last modified on 4/10/2009 at 6:29 am
0 4.10.09 at 6:35am #0 jam

tf2 having a bigger prizepot is a joke
and ur math are in no way proving me source players are not paying for 1.6 prizepot
players have to pay for premium too, i guess premium has to do with prizepot since the registration it self is lower than the prizepot no?

I was really looking forward for esea being the next big thing for source too
and I really want lot of teams to register for esea instead of cevo,
im QQing cuz this bad prizepot is gona make lot of teams play in cevo instead of esea.

let's be grateful source has a prize pot along with both invite and open divisions! :'(

yay for 1.6 css and tf2 yay!
0 4.10.09 at 6:40am #0 lpkane
tf2 is played 6v6, know your games

premium money doesn't go towards the prize pot, hasn't in any season, once again, source doesn't even pay for its own prize pot

and lol at 6k being bad, please don't play
0 4.10.09 at 6:45am #0 jam
, 1.6 doesnt pay for it prizepot either

season2:
css:58teams*5players=290
tf2:20teams*6players=120

why would season 3 tf2 have a bigger prizepot? i dont understand

oh and thx for telling me 'please don't play' because i disagre what ur saying, its just my personal opinion, if u dont care what the players opinion are why are u even reading forums or comments etc...

Last modified on 4/10/2009 at 6:46 am
0 4.10.09 at 6:47am #0 lpkane
tf2 is played 6v6 so they have to divide the prize pot by more players than source, think about it

i never said 1.6 paid for its own prize pot, you on the other hand claimed source paid for 1.6, you were wrong because it can't even pay for its own
0 4.10.09 at 6:54am #0 jam

the fact its 6vs6 is enought to make it bigger prizepot even if theres less players and teams playing that game in the league?

make a 10vs10 css league please, my team will register

Last modified on 4/10/2009 at 6:54 am
0 4.10.09 at 6:55am #0 lpkane
we're trying to grow tf2 just like we're trying to grow source

real cs isn't played 10v10, that's what ogl is for
0 4.10.09 at 6:58am #0 jam
ok look, is there any other reason other than the fact tf2 is 6vs6 that
tf2 prizepot> css prizepot for season3
?
0 4.10.09 at 6:59am #0 lpkane
what are you getting at here?
0 4.10.09 at 7:00am #0 jam
season2 was first season for both css and tf2,
css had way more players signing up,

season3 tf2 prizepot> css prizepot
why?
the fact the game is 6vs6 isnt enough to explain this...

is there any other reasons or no?

edit: also css is bigger also in esea-pugs, and outside of esea

also css is bigger than 1.6 in number of players, im really desapointed esea is offering such a low prizepot, higher prizepot would make way more css players play esea instead of cevo ( I really want this to happen cuz i like esea more)

Last modified on 4/10/2009 at 7:02 am
0 4.10.09 at 7:02am #0 lpkane
it is enough to explain it, they have to divide the prizes amongst more players

Do you think ESEA should remove de_tuscan, and replace it with de_cpl_mill in the CSS S7 Map Rotation ?
No, keep de_tuscan in.
Yes, remove de_tuscan and add de_cpl_mill.
