ESEA Season 5 LAN Registration Opens

Registration for Intel LAN Fest Dallas, which will feature the ESEA League Season 5 LAN Playoffs for the CS 1.6, CS: Source, and TF2 invite divisions is now open! The BYOC will open on Friday, March 12 at 5 pm and end on Sunday, March 14th about 12 pm (final matches may extend until 2 pm). The event is limited to 120 BYOC participants and costs $25 pre-paid online or $30 at the door and all proceeds go to charity! We will be working with the LAN Fest team to organize BYOC CS, CS: Source, and TF2 BYOC side competitions. The ESEA LAN Playoffs will have dedicated space within the event for competition on tournament PCs and competitor BYOC spots.

Intel LAN Fest Dallas will be held at Hella Shrine on 2121 Rowlett Road, Garland TX and there is a limited hotel block available at the Radisson on 11350 LBJ Freeway @ Jupiter, Dallas, TX for $73 per night, which includes free breakfast and a daily shuttle to and from the venue. Call 212-341-5400 and book your room under "ESEA" to receive the package.

Space is limited for this event and we hope to host larger LAN events with Intel LAN Fest for Season 6 and 7 with more lead time, but we really hope the CS, CS: Source, TF2, and entire ESEA community attends the event and supports the rebirth of North American competitive e-sports!

For those of you that cannot make it to Dallas, we'll of course have live SpecTVs, irc score bots, stats, VOD interviews, and web streams throughout the entire event.

So Torbull, it says on the Intel LANFest page "This event will be in conjunction with ESEA's Season 5 LAN Playoffs*; however, BYOC participants will not be required to participate in those playoffs. If you are interested in participating in the playoffs; please seek the counsel of a member of the ESEA staff*." Does this mean if you aren't one of the final four you can still participate in the playoffs? I mean it should make sense that any team can challenge the top four since it's on LAN and if they made the top four online they shouldn't have anything to worry about.
